Any good bands i should listen to?

im going on vacation and want to know if there is any good bands i should check out before i go. im into more old rock and indie music. like the flaming lips, apples in stereo, the cure, the smiths, the ramones, electric light orchestra, the kinks, david bowie, and pretty much any music that you may think i like. any suggestions??
