Xbox 360 or PS3? Which should I buy?

I never had PS, but had Xbox 360 which broke down from RROD and E74 errorrs. My favorite games such as Halo and DOA series are solely on Xbox console, so I am in dilemma. PS3 seems an awesome product, with Blue Ray etc, but has very limited number of games. I really want to have a new X-box, but afraid of getting RROD and E74. I heard about Jasper chips on Xbox which kinda eliminates RROD etc but I am still very skeptical about it. I donna waste my money on things that will break down soon. Any suggestions?
