How can I get my daughter's friend to like me?

Me and my wife just dropped my daughter off at college. She made some new friends, one of whom is smokin'. I asked my daughter if I could spend the night in her dorm to try to hit on this chick but my daughter was appalled. What gives? What can I say to change her mind?
