Toys to entertain a newborn?

At 9 days old, it is virtually impossible to keep a baby awake! They will sleep when they want to sleep. The vibrating bouncer thing sounds like it would be quite scary to a baby that young. Her vision will still be very restricted, but the things newborn babies like to look at best are people's faces and the sounds they like best are human voices. Therefore the best things you can do are to hold your daughter and make eye contact with her, sing to her and talk to her. In a few more weeks, as her senses develop, she will start to become interested in brightly coloured toys, rattles, and images with high contrast (black and white).
