What's the El in Antwaan Randle El ?

My mother does not know much about football but when I brought up the name of the player on the Washington Redskins, she decided to go looking to find out what the EL means in his name. This was all after I had to explain over and over that Randle was not his first name and that the first name does not go on the back of a jersey. I tried looking this up and thought maybe it has something to do with his religious background or something. Can anyone help?
