Fundraising ideas please...?

this summer i'm going with a group at my school to go and do community work in ecuador and i'd like to raise some money. what sort of things could i do? others are doing a quiz nigt so that's out, none of our local bands are any good to play at my school and the school runs quite a lot of internal band nights anyway, and no one would really sponsor me to do walks or car washing or whatever. oh and i am looking for a job but i'd like some additional ideas too please. thanks.
